Pikesville native Karson Kamenetz announced recently that he plans to run for Baltimore County Council in the second district in the 2026 election, if Izzy Patoka, the current council member, runs for county executive, a move he’s expected to make.

If he wins, the 23-year-old Kamenetz would take the seat his father, Kevin, held for 16 years before becoming county executive in 2010 ahead of his untimely death in 2018.
