★★ Meet Karson★★

Karson Kamenentz

Karson grew up here and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Government and Politics. He is currently studying law at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he is learning to analyze complex issues, argue both sides, and dig into the fine print—all skills he believes belong in the Baltimore County Council.

From an early age, Karson has been deeply engaged in public service. He worked in Annapolis for the Chair of the Baltimore County House Delegation, where he helped advance legislation to strengthen Maryland’s public education system. He organized hundreds of volunteers with SwingLeft Baltimore, leading efforts to connect with voters and encourage election participation in key districts across the country. And he was elected to the Baltimore County Democratic State Central Committee in 2022, where he was later chosen as Parliamentarian to lead bylaw reforms to bring the Party’s voice to its elected leaders.

Kamenetz Family

Karson comes from a family dedicated to service. His grandfather ran a small pharmacy in Overlea, serving neighbors with humility and care. His father, the late County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, devoted decades to public service. But Karson’s story isn’t just about carrying on a name, it’s about carrying forward a responsibility. Losing his father at sixteen was a distinct before-and-after moment that gave Karson clarity: time is short, and the work we do must matter.

★★ Vision ★★

Today, Karson is running for Baltimore County Council because he believes in choosing growth over decline, accountability over excuses, and community over division.

Karson’s vision is clear:

  • Housing that is affordable for our teachers, nurses, and first responders.
  • Strong public schools that are not overcrowded and prepare the next generation for life in Baltimore County.
  • A permitting system that supports businesses and residents instead of holding them back.
  • Preserving green space, farmland, and the 200 miles of waterfront that define Baltimore County’s character.
  • Safer neighborhoods and streets built not only through supporting our police department, fire stations, and EMS workers, but also through investments in youth programs, mental health, and opportunity.
  • Seniors First: Fix the basics so every senior can age with dignity in every neighborhood: safe sidewalkers and crossings, real help to stay safely at home, reliable senior transportation, and stronger connection/protection so no one is trapped at home or left alone.
  • Strengthen our union backbone: fair labor on public projects, legislation that finally stops wage theft and weeds out bad contractors, and competitive pay, tools, and training for our public sector workers.

Karson’s campaign is rooted in accessibility and accountability. His personal phone number is on his business card, because he believes good government means listening, showing up, and being held to the highest standard by the people you serve.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Karson says. “This is my home. Hold me accountable, and together we can build a Baltimore County worth staying in.”
